Bio:
Chris graduated university with a degree in both Pure and
Applied mathematics and has always had a passion for artistic
endeavors. He found a perfect marriage of these interests in the
world of computer graphics, and over the past 10 years he has
pioneered new visualization paradigms. He has a commanding grasp
of a wide variety of 2D/3D software and continually seeks out to
utilize emerging technologies. Chris is the founder of True
Dimensional Studios Inc. which specializes in creating rich
digital content as well as custom educational seminars. He has
taught at many levels in both the private and public sectors and
brings years of experience and practice to the classroom
setting.
The curriculum will be as follows;
Day 1
Introduction to mental ray. Learning how mental ray is incorporated inside 3DS
Max.
Understanding the mental ray render dialogue.
Lunch
Discussion about Indirect Illumination. Learning how to use new lighting models
with photon mapping (for Gi and caustics) and final gather.
Creating the workflow. How to set up the rendering engine and creating an
efficient workflow.
Day 2
Materials. Learning about mental ray materials, lume shaders, and the mental ray
connection. Learn about metal ray displacement.
Production effects. Using camera and post shaders.
Lunch
Combining lighting and materials. Creating the final image.
Troubleshooting images. Learning what to look for and fine tuning the output.
Discussion about linear color workflow.
At the end of this two day course, the student will have all the tools needed to produce production quality images.
This capability will enhance your presentations and have your
clients begging for more of the same.
